Razeen Zaman

Razeen has worked to advance immigrant rights for over a decade, having worked as an organizer before becoming a lawyer. She believes in a movement lawyering model centering the voices of those directly affected to advance social justice and is committed to building the power of marginalized immigrant communities. Razeen began practicing law during the height of Trump's deportation regime where she represented immigrants in removal proceedings.
She most recently served as NYU's immigration attorney where she represented students, faculty, and employees facing an array of immigration issues. She has worked on local, state, and federal policy and legislation to address issues facing undocumented communities. Razeen's past affiliations include Brooklyn Legal Services, the Feerick Center for Social Justice, the Center for Constitutional Rights, and the NYU Immigrant Defense Initiative.
