“Indians in U.S. Back Democrats”

New York: The largest-ever survey of Asian-American voters shows that an overwhelming majority of Indian-Americans support the Democrats at election time.

Though it was assumed that Indians in America mostly vote for the Democratic Party, the survey covering 11,000 Asian-American voters across 20 cities in eight states conducted during the 2006 Congressional elections by the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund or AALDEF, proves it.

The support of the Indian community has been consistent over the past two election cycles, pointing to a possible trend for the 2008 Presidential elections as well.
