June 25 – Asian Pacifically New York – Photography by Corky Lee Opening Reception
We invite you to attend the opening reception for “Asian Pacifically New York, ” a photo exhibit by long-time AALDEF supporter and photographer Corky Lee. Corky has been documenting the experiences of New York’s Asian and Pacific Islander American communities for over 40 years, including many civil rights issues.
WHAT: Opening Reception for “Asian Pacifically New York” WHEN: Saturday, June 25 3:00pm – 5:00pm WHERE: Queens Museum of Art (Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NY 11368) DIRECTIONS FROM MANHATTAN: Take the #7 Train to Flushing, Queens line. Exit Mets-Willets Point. There will be a trolley right under the tracks on Roosevelt Ave under the Willets Point/CitiField stop take you to/from the museum. Trolley from 2:30-6pm.
If you would like to walk to the museum instead of taking the trolley, take the boardwalk, then take the right road past the tennis center and the museum will be left of the big globe (Unisphere).10-15 minute walk.
This exhibition is on view from June 8- August 14th. The opening reception is sponsored by the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF) and Asian American Journal Association (AAJA). Light refreshments provided.
