 AALDEF Reveals Data on Asian American Support for Immigration Reform Breakdown by state, party enrollment, ethnicity, and vote for President and Congress

The Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund is holding a telebriefing on April 8, 2013 at 11am to present findings on Asian American voter support for comprehensive immigration reform (CIR) using AALDEF exit poll data from the 2012 Congressional and Presidential elections. In anticipation of an imminent legislative proposal on CIR, AALDEF will present data on support for immigration reform in states including Texas, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, and Georgia, where elected officials are playing key roles in the immigration reform debate. AALDEF will also present Asian American voter support for immigration reform among registered Republicans and Democrats and by ethnic group.

“Elected officials must be made aware of the extent that immigration reform drove Asian American voters to the polls to cast a ballot for their chosen representatives,” said Glenn Magpantay, Director of AALDEF’s Democracy Program.

The telebriefing will feature Glenn Magpantay, Director of AALDEF’s Democracy Program, and Bethany Li, AALDEF staff attorney, who will discuss current issues for Asian Americans in the immigration reform debate.
