Know Your Rights: The Right to Protest
Hundreds of thousands of people across the country have protested the killing of George Floyd, an African American man, by four Minneapolis police officers on May 25, 2020. Asian Americans have shown their solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement by calling for racial justice and an end to police violence. AALDEF’s statement on Justice for George Floyd can be found here.
AALDEF has prepared a fact sheet about the right to protest, which is protected by the First Amendment. The fact sheet is in English, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Korean, and Vietnamese, and will be available in other Asian languages soon.
