AALDEF has started 2013 with a burst of new activities to promote the civil rights of Asian Americans. Thanks to the support of individuals like you, we have been able to carry out some exciting initiatives:
Sharing the results of our 14-state multilingual exit poll of over 9,000 Asian American voters in the 2012 elections, and detailing their voting problems at the polls;
Launching the first-ever East Coast story collection and documentary from our Asian undocumented youth group of DREAMers, and ensuring that the voices of Asian Americans are heard in the debate for comprehensive immigration reform;
Winning a $1.2 million judgment for a Filipina immigrant trafficking survivor, who faced exploitation as a domestic worker in Rhode Island;
Releasing a new report Mapping Muslims: NYPD Spying and Its Impacts on American Muslims, documenting the impacts of police surveillance;
Filing amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court in two major voting rights cases.
If you haven't received our latest Summer 2013 Outlook newsletter, drop us a line and we'll mail it to you today.
You can also keep up to date with AALDEF's activities by liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter.
But to continue our work, we need your help. AALDEF provides free legal advice and representation to immigrant workers, trafficking survivors, students, voters, and community groups across the country.
As we approach our 40th anniversary next year, please join us in the ongoing fight for social justice. Your tax-deductible contribution of $500, $250, 100, or any amount will make a difference in the lives of Asian Americans and help to improve the quality of democracy for all Americans.
Thanks for your support!
